Principal Investigators

Joy Cavalaris, MD
Dr Joy Cavalaris attended Boston University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Biology. She continued on to receive her Doctor of Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. During her final year she served as administrative chief resident.
Dr Cavalaris has been involved in many professional organizations. She has served on various committees for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists at the district and national level and is currently chair of the women’s physician section of the Palm Beach County Medical Society.

Dr Cavalaris is a native South Floridian. She grew up in Miami and has been practicing in West Palm Beach since 2004. She is board certified and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She also serves as a sub-investigator for Altus Research, which conducts clinical trials in areas of women’s health.

Dr Cavalaris has specific interests in: advanced laparoscopy, office based gynecological procedures, and high risk obstetrics.

Lori Sevald, MD
Dr. Lori Sevald earned her bachelor degree and graduated with Highest Distinction honors from the School of Pharmacy at Purdue University in 1997. While there she was elected into a number of honor societies and received numerous school and community awards. She then attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine earning Alpha Omega Alpha honors. In 2005, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. During her final year of training she served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Sevald is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been practicing medicine in the West Palm Beach community since 2005. She is also a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Locally, she is an active member of the Palm Beach Medical Society and serves on the advisory board for the Palm Beach Cystic Fibrosis chapter. Outside of her professional interests, Dr. Sevald enjoys traveling abroad, participating in outdoor sports, and spending time with her husband and family.

Sylvia Siegfried, MD
Born in Maryland, Dr.Siegfried grew up in Miami. In high school she decided she wanted to work in women’s health. In pursuit of that goal she went on to receive her BA degree with Honors from the University of Florida in 1996. As an undergraduate she was an active volunteer within the community and specifically the local Red Cross Chapter, elected to numerous honor societies and competed as varsity rower on Florida Crew.
She was then accepted to the University Of Florida College Of Medicine and earned her medical degree in 2000. As a medical student she continued volunteer work at local clinics in Gainesville, traveled through India for a one month externship and completed her first marathon. She spent the next 4 years in her residency training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. In residency Dr. Siegfried enjoyed learning from and working with some of the top names in the field of ob/gyn. After residency, she joined Palm Beach Ob/Gyn and has been serving the community ever since. Since moving to West Palm Beach in 2004 she has married and now has 2 kids with whom she enjoys spending her time.

She is Board Certified and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists. Dr.Siegfried serves as a sub-investigator for Altus Research, which conducts clinical trials in areas of women’s health. She also provides care as a volunteer physician through Project Access. She is committed to keeping up with the latest in women’s healthcare and feels honored to be able to take care of women throughout their life stages.
